Emma Bell, internationally renowned soprano, will sing musical pieces to sooth the soul.
During the pandemic some people have lost loved ones in tough circumstances and Emma is offering her musical gifts as a help to heal the heart. Through the beauty of music and poetry she hopes that people will be brought solace and hope no matter what kind of loss has affected them most during Covid.
The songs will be interspersed with poetry chosen for this occasion. Emma will be accompanied by the acclaimed accompanist Joyce Fieldsend.
The concert is open to anyone who would like to attend. It is being held in Berwick Church whose walls were covered with paintings by Bloomsbury artists Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Quentin Bell during the Second World War and have recently been beautifully restored. These paintings, full of colour, were themselves offered by the artists to bring comfort and hope to people in the midst of war.
