Developing Discipleship Study Morning: George Bell, the Visual Arts and the Church
10.00 am to 1.00 pm Saturday 6th September 2008 Led by The Very Revd Nicholas Frayling,
Dean of Chichester and the Revd Peter Blee, Rector of Berwick and Selmeston-
Berwick church is a listed building of great importance on account of the ‘Bloomsbury Group’ murals. Bishop Bell, whose death fifty years ago we commemorate this year, was instrumental in encouraging the project.
As well as providing the opportunity to study the Berwick murals in context, the
study morning will also provide and opportunity to learn more about the national
importance of Bishop Bell to the revival of Christian arts in England.
To book your place, please send a cheque for £7.00 payable to ‘Chichester Diocesan
Fund (No 6 Account)’ together with your name, address, telephone number and email
address (if you have one) to:
The Bishop’s Certificate Office,
211 New Church Road,
Hove, BN3 4ED.
Confirmation of your place on the study day will be sent out about one week before the event. Please note, should the day be oversubscribed your cheque will be returned to you.
